Put Your Faith Into Action

Put Your Faith into Action

Do you dream of making a difference? We’re making it easier to launch your faith into action.

"Not all of us can do great things. But we can all do small things with great love."

- Saint Teresa of Calcutta

As Mother Teresa so eloquently expressed, each and every one of us has the power to make a difference in the world. We just need to find our own unique way to spread the great love of Christ. That’s what the 4th baseline of our discipleship diamond here at St. Paul’s is all about: serving others.

The problem is that when we scan the news, we can quickly become overwhelmed by the enormity of issues we face as a society today. Plus, we’re all busy with our own lives. It’s hard to even know where to begin making a larger impact on our community and world.

Saint Teresa said “Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you." The Service & Justice Commission would like to help you follow in her footsteps by simplifying the process of finding others, who most need your help.

On our web site www.stpaulcatholicparish.org under the Service & Justice tab, we’ve added information about local organizations with meaningful volunteer opportunities for you to get involved in. They’re broken down into categories such as serve the poor, support for women and families, environmental impact, and international outreach. We hope this helps you find a service opportunity that you are most passionate about.

Another option is for you to simply click on the Launch Pad under the Service & Justice tab on our web site. If you quickly fill out the web form with your contact info and select organizations you're interested in, you'll hear from the person in charge of those ministries about ways you can get involved. We will also have paper copies of the Launch Pad available in the gathering space throughout the Easter season.

Before you start, please feel free to stop by the parish office for free St. Paul’s volunteer t-shirts and wear them, while you’re doing your service project, so others in our community can begin to see that St. Paul’s is a parish, which is truly devoted to being Christ’s hands and feet to the least among us.

In coming months, be sure to check out the bulletin to read stories about the positive impact service has had on the lives of parishioners here at St. Paul’s. Truly, the best way to encounter Christ is to bring Him to others, which is something we ALL can do in small ways, especially with the help of our new online resources. We hope soon you’ll have a powerful service story of your own to share. Please email n.gant@mchsi.com if you are willing to inspire parishioners with your story! Thank you and God bless.
