CRUX
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is
made perfect in weakness”
(2 Corinthians 12:9).
As a parish, we invite you to join us as we learn how to surrender to Christ in faith this Lent. An obstacle to real growth in Christ is self-reliance. Surrender is the antidote to self-reliance.
This Lent, we’re going to willingly do hard things—things that stretch us, things that challenge us, things that we would rather avoid—to help us recognize our limitations.
That’s where God wants to meet us—in our weakness.
One way we are doing this is by participating in Ascension’s new Lenten program, Crux, with Fr. Columba Jordan, CFR. Crux: Daily Lenten Meditations is a daily devotional that helps you build a habit of Scripture reading and prayer, keeping your eyes fixed on your Lenten goals and reminding you of your true identity in Christ.
The devotional encourages physical and spiritual disciplines, finding ways to challenge ourselves exactly where we’re at.
You can pick up your free copy of the devotional at church the Sunday before Ash Wednesday, February 15. You’re welcome to follow along at home on your own. Families can take advantage of the weekly family section, which is a helpful way for families to keep the season of Lent centered on the loving sacrifice of Jesus.
If you would like do this study with your small group, please contact the parish office for extra resources. We will also have weekly videos with Fr. Columba through Flocknote that you will be able to sign up for in the next few weeks.
There is also an option for daily videos that you can subscribe to through Ascension Press for only $4.99 for Lent. This is done on your own and outside of the weekly Flocknote emails.
